Flamenco Classes in Elche

Flamenco Classes in Elche

Three levels, technique sessions, and morning and afternoon groups

Flamenco dance stands out for its intensity and expressiveness: it is one of the dances where passion and strength dominate. It is an unpretentious dance born from the people, and it differs from other disciplines in that each dancer’s personality matters enormously.

At BienBailao we run 3 levels of flamenco dance classes plus technique sessions that reinforce any of those levels. Classes are taught by Estefanía Escobar, a teacher with over 15 years of experience in the flamenco world.

How we structure flamenco levels at BienBailao

  1. 1

    Flamenco Beginner (Level 1)

For people taking their first steps in flamenco or who already have some basic notions. Several afternoon groups and morning groups too.

  2. 2

    Flamenco Intermediate (Level 2)

Recommended for those who have danced flamenco for a while and understand compás, movement and footwork.

  3. 3

    Flamenco Advanced (Level 3)

For people who have practised flamenco for some time, with skill and speed in their footwork and a solid grasp of flamenco compás.

Technique sessions as reinforcement

Beyond the three levels, we offer technique classes that complement any of them. This is where you polish footwork, arm work and placement without the pressure of building a choreography, and where the jump from one level to the next shows most.

Who teaches

Flamenco and sevillanas classes are taught by Estefanía Escobar, with over 15 years of experience in the flamenco world. Groups are small, so there is room to correct each student individually.

Flamenco and sevillanas

Sevillanas are one of the best-known styles within flamenco and Andalusian folklore, and Elche and the wider province have a real appetite for Andalusian ferias. If you are specifically after sevillanas, we teach those too, including special variants: flamenco sevillanas, with fan or with shawl.

Do I need previous experience for flamenco classes?

No. The beginner level is designed for people taking their first steps in flamenco or who only have basic notions. There are several afternoon groups and morning groups as well.

How many flamenco levels are there at BienBailao?

Three: beginner, intermediate and advanced. There are also technique classes that reinforce any of the three levels.
